Prudential Financial

From a basement office in Newark, New Jersey, John Fairfield Dryden began writing the first life insurance policies to be accessible for the working class. They were industrial life plans, which covered funeral and burial expenses for premiums as low as 3 cents per week.

The company then expanded across the country. By 1940 Prudential was in a half dozen cities including New York and Los Angeles. From there, Prudential grew to become one of the most trusted names in life insurance.

Today, Prudential is a multi-national insurance company with offices on 4 continents.
